Current opportunity:
As part of our Business Consulting Services division, this is a newly created  role in the Tax Consulting Team. This role is a hybrid between traditional tax and business services assignments and tax consulting including preparation of tax advice, tax reports and strategies.
 
Reporting to our long standing and very experienced Tax Director, you will actively partner with clients to reach their potential. Based in our CBD offices you will be surrounded by specialists with technical expertise, provide great client service and propel your career.
 
The role: 

• Proactive and tailored strategic tax advice 
• Developing client relationships with a diverse group of clients
• Research and analyse technical tax issues
• Assistance with tax consulting advice such as tax consolidations, small business CGT, and SME restructuring
• Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a variety of structures
• Financial modelling, calculations and analysis
• Assist clients with ATO reviews, governance matters and audits
• Working with ATO to obtain rulings for clients
• Providing clients with guidance in all aspects of taxation law, including GST, CGT, international tax etc.

 Your skills and experience

• We’re happy to receive applications from candidates with 2 years prior tax and advisory or taxation consulting experience in an Australian Accounting Practice or Law firm
• Ideally dual degree qualified – Accounting & Law
• Technical tax knowledge and tax planning experience essential
• Able to develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues
• Excellent English skills both written and oral
• Experience with small business CGT, international taxation and financial modelling an advantage
