As an Audit Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering high-quality audit engagements across a diverse client base. You will be the primary point of contact on assigned audits, responsible for overseeing the audit process from planning through to completion, while mentoring and supporting team members.
This role offers strong exposure to the Partners and provides opportunities to build your professional profile and referral network across the firm.
The role
In this role, you will:
- Supervise and complete audit assignments in line with Nexia’s Audit Approach
- Act as the primary point of control and client liaison on audit engagements
- Plan and program audit assignments, including identifying risks and developing appropriate audit strategies
- Manage budgets, timelines, and staffing to ensure audits are delivered efficiently and to a high standard
- Review work papers and audit files to ensure quality, compliance, and completeness
- Finalise audits for Manager or Director review, including financial statements and management letters
- Proactively engage with clients, building strong and trusted relationships
- Provide value-adding insights and identify opportunities for additional services
- Supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff through on-the-job coaching and feedback
- Support team engagement, performance, and training initiatives
- Contribute to business development activities and internal initiatives across the firm
Salary range starting from $115,000 inclusive of superannuation.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in external audit within a Chartered or professional services firm
- Completed a relevant accounting qualification (CA or equivalent preferred)
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards, audit methodology and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience planning, supervising and reviewing audit engagements across a range of client types
- Proven ability to identify and assess audit and engagement risks
- Experience mentoring and developing junior staff
- Advanced proficiency in audit and accounting systems (e.g. Caseware, APS, MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Office
