2nd Line IT Engineer
West Midlands
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 (Depending on experience)


Our client, a dynamic and growing organisation based in the West Midlands, is on the lookout for a talented 2nd Line Engineer to join their dedicated technical team.  Your background could be internal IT or within an MSP, either would be suitable.


You'll be part of a friendly, collaborative, forward-thinking environment where innovation and technical excellence are at the heart of what they do.  There are a wide variety of modern desktop and cyber security projects and tech challenges to keep things fresh and rewarding.


What You'll Be Doing:

• Providing 2nd line technical support across desktops, servers, and infrastructure
• Delivering projects including server builds, firewall & switch installations, network audits, and end-user deployments
• Managing support tickets and resolving issues with confidence
• Monitoring backups and remote systems, responding to alerts proactively
• Acting as a trusted technical resource

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support role
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server 2012-2022, Windows 10+, Active Directory, Office 365
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and networking best practices
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and products
• Project delivery experience (hardware rollouts, server setups, wireless installs)
• Comfortable using helpdesk platforms and remote support tools
