Administration Support Officer
This part‑time Administration Support Officer role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high‑performing customer service team. In this position, you will provide quality administrative and customer service support, respond to enquiries, maintain accurate records, and assist with a range of operational tasks that support the day to day running of the team. This role is well suited to someone who is organised, comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering professional, responsive service to both internal and external stakeholders.
The Opportunity
- Fixed term part time position to 30 September 2026 with a minimum 48 hours per fortnight; and
- Seeking expressions of interest for upcoming opportunities to support business continuity during short‑term workforce changes, including parental leave and internal staff movements.
What Council Offers - 48 hour fortnight, with the ability to work up to 72.5 hours.

- Up to 5 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% annual leave loading (pro-rata)

General Salary Information This position is classified as Level 2 under the
Hinchinbrook Shire Council Local Government Officers (Stream A) Certified Agreement.
The salary is $71,200 per annum (pro-rata) and $37.7717 per hour, plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities - Provide customer service through Council’s customer service centre;
- Perform administrative duties within defined guidelines and procedures;
- Assist multiple business areas as required;
- Support internal service delivery standards and customer charter outcomes; and
- Contribute positively to a team-based work environment.

Mandatory: - Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and customer focused approach in a corporate environment;
- Experience in administration or customer-focused roles;
- Confidence and ability to learn Council systems and functions;
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and escalate matters appropriately in line with established processes; and
- Current Queensland “C” Class Driver Licence.
Desirable: - Relevant qualifications or certifications in Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related discipline; and
- Experience working within local government environment.
