Computational Biology Team Leader
Germany - Hybrid
  
KEMIO are working with one of the world’s top pharmaceutical organisations, who are looking for an experienced team leader to manage a group of experienced computational biologists working in the target discovery space.
  
The Associate director position will be responsible for overseeing the work of a small, but experienced group of bioinformaticians / computational biologists. To be successful you'll need to be well versed in developing and growing teams in similar industry settings. We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with the lab to ensure maximum impact.
  
  
Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and support the development of a small team of computational biologists
• Work closely with the therapeutic area head to drive the portfolio forward
• Lead on strategy and offer scientific leadership
• Lead multi-disciplinary projects, with both internal and external partners ensuring maximum impact on the pipeline
• Oversee the design and application of computational methods for target and biomarker discovery
• Work in multi disciplinary teams - Translating complex computational insights into actionable plans
• Establish and maintain high standards for data analysis to ensure quality and reproducibility of results.

Key experience required :

• Must have a PhD in a computational field and several years of post PhD experience
• You must have experience working in industry (biotech or pharma) - using computational biology to influence drug discovery
• At least a couple of years of experience line managing teams of bioinformaticians/computational biologists in industry
• Proven expertise in target identification and/or biomarker discovery
• Strong communication skills and the ability to bring together multidisciplinary teams, working towards a common goal
