Optio6 has partnered with a leading international law firm to appoint a Senior Associate into its high-performing Employment & Incentives team in Melbourne, VIC.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer to join a collaborative and commercially focused practice advising major domestic and international clients across a broad range of workplace matters.
Working closely with respected partners and a supportive national team, you will be involved in both contentious and advisory matters, including:
- managing employment and industrial disputes across State and Federal courts and tribunals
- advising on workplace investigations involving bullying, harassment, discrimination and whistleblower matters
- supporting clients with workplace compliance and underpayment issues, including regulator engagement
- assisting with enterprise bargaining and industrial relations matters
- advising on workforce restructuring, integrations and employment aspects of corporate transactions
- advising on workplace health and safety compliance and incident response
- mentoring and supporting junior lawyers within the team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be an Australian-qualified lawyer with approximately 5-8 years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a recognised employment practice.
You will also bring:
- strong technical capability across employment and workplace relations law
- excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- a collaborative and team-oriented approach
- the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- commercial judgement and a client-focused mindset
- an interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to business development initiatives
