Senior Account Director – Marketing & Brand

Location:  Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea | Expatriate Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Account Director or senior marketing professional to take ownership of a major corporate account in Papua New Guinea.

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven role combining brand strategy, marketing strategy, senior stakeholder management and integrated campaign delivery.

Rather than managing a broad portfolio of accounts, you will become deeply embedded in a major client relationship, developing a detailed understanding of its business, brand, customers and commercial priorities and translating these into effective marketing strategies, campaigns and projects.

You will act as the central connection between senior client stakeholders and a substantial multidisciplinary team spanning strategy, creative, digital, social, production and project delivery.

The Role
Working closely with senior marketing and executive stakeholders, you will take ownership of the strategic and day-to-day relationship with a major corporate client.

Some projects will arrive with clearly defined briefs. In other situations, you will work with stakeholders to take an initial business objective or idea and develop it into a structured marketing strategy, campaign or project.

You will be expected to listen, interpret, advise and appropriately challenge thinking while ensuring projects are successfully executed.

With numerous campaigns and projects running concurrently, this role requires someone who can combine strategic thinking with strong organisation and the ability to make things happen.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior marketing and executive stakeholders.
• Develop a deep understanding of the client's business strategy, brand, customers and commercial priorities.
• Provide strategic marketing and brand advice.
• Translate business objectives into clear marketing initiatives, campaigns and briefs.
• Bring proactive ideas, insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Lead projects from initial concept and briefing through to execution and delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across strategy, creative, digital, social, production and project management.
• Manage multiple campaigns, projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Ensure briefs, responsibilities, timelines and expectations are clearly understood.
• Maintain high standards of quality, timeliness and client service.
• Resolve issues quickly and practically as priorities change.
• Provide clear direction to internal teams while maintaining focus on the broader commercial objectives.
• Support an increasingly regional relationship involving PNG, Australia and other Pacific markets.

About You
This opportunity will particularly suit an experienced Account Director, Senior Account Director or Group Account Director with a strong background in marketing, advertising, creative, brand or integrated agency environments.
Senior client-side marketing professionals with significant agency exposure may also be considered.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Senior account management or marketing leadership experience.
• Experience managing major corporate accounts and senior stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of brand and marketing strategy.
• Experience delivering integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
• The ability to coordinate substantial multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent project management and organisational capability.
• Confidence managing a significant volume of concurrent work.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of account performance and client retention.
• The ability to engage credibly with senior executives.
• Financial services or banking sector exposure would be advantageous, but is not essential.

You will be strategic but practical, commercially astute, highly organised and an outstanding relationship builder. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment and confident taking genuine ownership of a major client relationship.

Location & Expatriate Package The position will ultimately be based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and will be a residential rather than FIFO appointment.

There may be some flexibility for the successful candidate to initially commence from Australia while becoming familiar with the account and broader team before transitioning permanently to PNG.

A comprehensive expatriate package will be provided, including:

• Competitive salary
• Furnished accommodation in a secure compound
• Vehicle for 24/7 use
• Annual leave flight allowance
• PNG health insurance
• Phone and internet
• Schooling support, if required
• Work permit and immigration support

The position will also involve regular engagement with colleagues in Australia and may include periodic travel within Australia and the wider Pacific.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to move beyond conventional account management and take genuine ownership of a significant corporate relationship.
You will work directly with senior decision-makers, contribute to brand and marketing strategy and then lead the execution of that strategy through a substantial multidisciplinary team.

For an experienced marketing professional looking for greater ownership, visibility and international experience, this represents an exciting opportunity to build your career in one of the Pacific region's most dynamic markets.
