About the company: A global fund manager with international offices managing billions of assets. Their APAC head office is located in Sydney CBD. They provide multi-asset investment solutions to institutional client and financial advice firms.
About the role: This exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and driven Investment Analyst to join a dynamic and collaborative multi-asset portfolio management team.
You will provide critical support across investment process, research, and client engagement. This is an ideal role for an ambitious graduate or junior analyst who is focused on a career in multi-asset portfolio construction and career progression more broadly in the segment.
Our client will support your growth with a generous development timeline:
First 3 Months:
Fully immerse yourself in understanding the team’s investment philosophy, processes, and product offerings.
Build strong working relationships with the team.
6 – 12 Months:
Begin taking on ownership of core day-to-day responsibilities.
Strong entrenchment and collaboration with Portfolio Managers
Proactive intention to consider your path for further educational pursuits.
Key responsibilities: This role requires a proactive approach and a broad set of responsibilities across the investment lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
Portfolio Management Support: Regular review of investment positions across various models .
Operations & Liquidity: Daily liquidity and cashflow management for the portfolios.
Research & Analysis: Performing data analysis and producing market commentary to support investment decisions.
Manager Due Diligence: Meeting with external fund managers to evaluate new and existing investment opportunities.
Strategy Meetings: Active participation in weekly meetings covering both Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA).
Sales Enablement: Assisting the internal sales team with product knowledge, performance data, and presentation materials.
Skills & experience:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Further Education: A commitment to further professional development, with a goal of completing a CFA Charter or a Master’s degree (or currently enrolled).
Drive: You must be genuinely hungry, motivated, energetic, and driven to succeed.
Focus: A strong interest in multi-asset portfolio management and asset allocation is essential.
Proactivity: A willingness to take the initiative, anticipate team needs, and drive tasks to completion.
Ability to work with a wide variety of people including team members, clients, members, actuaries, auditors, and industry regulators
Interest in and understanding of investments including capital markets, investment managers and investment products.
