As a Production Supervisor, the following will be your key responsibilities:
- Provide a pragmatic hands-on approach to the leadership of employees in a team environment, reporting to and working with the Operations Manager
- Plan and organize production line based on volume and yields
- Manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and production schedule are met
- Oversee the areas of productivity, maintenance, quality, regulatory compliance, customer service and housekeeping issues to ensure the company goals and objectives are achieved
- Lead day-to-day production activities of the feed plant
- Complete required documentation relating to business
- Troubleshoot minor problems as needed and perform emergency maintenance tasks to fix the problems
- Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Extensive knowledge of feed mill operations
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent understanding of HACCP and safety regulations and requirements
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve several tasks at hand, efficiently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while consistently meeting deadlines
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and applicable internet applications is an asset
- Experienced with inventory processes
- Capable of performing physical job duties (may include: lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling and twisting safely)
- Using personal protective equipment (PPE), must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions (may include: heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.)
- Understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or agricultural setting
- Trained in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
- High school diploma or equivalent
