As a Warehouse Associate, the following will be your key responsibilities:
Bagging Operations
- Operate feed bagging machinery to fill bags accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure correct feed type and weight per bag according to specifications.
- Label and stack bags properly for storage or shipment.
Quality Control - Inspect feed for contaminants or inconsistencies during the bagging process.
- Report any quality issues or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Warehouse Organization - Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Stack and store finished feed bags safely and in designated areas.
- Rotate stock as needed to maintain product freshness (FIFO – First In, First Out).
Shipping and Receiving - Assist with loading and unloading feed shipments.
- Verify quantities and condition of incoming/outgoing goods.
- Complete basic shipping or receiving paperwork as needed.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance - Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance or cleaning on bagging machines and other tools.
Safety and Compliance - Follow all workplace safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to company policies and regulatory guidelines related to feed handling and storage.
Inventory Support - Help with physical inventory counts and stock tracking.
- Notify management of low stock levels or discrepancies
Team Collaboration - Work closely with production, logistics, and quality control teams to ensure smooth warehouse and bagging operations.
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Capable of performing physical job duties (may include: lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling and twisting safely)
- Using personal protective equipment (PPE), must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions (may include: heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow-up
- Understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Experienced in operating forklifts
- Ability to work day/afternoon/nights shift rotation
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or agricultural setting
- Trained in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
- High school diploma or equivalent
