Maaori Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner
                         
Turuki Health Care is a kaupapa Maaori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing and social services across Taamaki Makaurau. Our mission is to provide high quality, accessible and affordable healthcare to whaanau, with a dedicated focus on equity and culturally responsive care.
  
We are seeking two passionate and culturally grounded practitioners to join our Kaupapa Maaori mental health addictions and wellbeing service based in Manukau.

Our service is focused on infusing both clinical and cultural models to support whaanau wellbeing. Ensuring access to free, early mental health and wellbeing support for people experiencing mild to moderate conditions. This opportunity plays an important role in supporting the “missing middle” ensuring whaanau can access timely, appropriate and responsive care.

Our kaupapa Maaori service is grounded in te ao Maaori and delivers holistic, whaanau-centred support - by Maaori, for Maaori.
  
Te whiwhinga mahi – The opportunity
  
Your mahi will include:

• Providing brief mental health and wellbeing interventions in primary care and community settings
• Supporting individuals and whaanau with mild to moderate mental health needs
• Delivering care grounded in te ao Maaori and kaupapa Maaori frameworks
• Promoting wellbeing through culturally responsive, holistic approaches
• Working collaboratively with whaanau, community providers and other services
• Supporting improved access to mental health services for Maaori

Ideally you will bring:

• Experience working in mental health and/or wellbeing services
• Understanding of kaupapa Maaori and whaanau centred approaches (desirable)
• Confidence engaging with Maaori, whaanau and diverse communities
• Knowledge of tikanga and commitment to culturally safe practice
• Experience in community health, housing, education, social services or case management
• Ability to engage effectively with whaanau and community partners
• Good organisational and computer skills, with the ability to learn new systems
• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise your workload
• Professional presentation and a strong work ethic
• Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand
• Clean criminal record
