Primary Health and Business Manager

Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
This is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our primary health services, working in partnership with clinical leadership to ensure high-quality, efficient and culturally responsive care.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team and oversee operations including general practice services, nursing, allied health and community-based services.
This role plays an important part in ensuring services operate effectively while supporting equitable health outcomes for Maaori, Pasifika and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading and managing the daily operations of the Maangere clinic
- Providing leadership and support to primary health care teams and administrators
- Managing staff performance, rosters, and workforce planning
- Monitoring service delivery, KPIs and contract performance
- Managing operational budgets and financial performance
- Ensuring compliance with Cornerstone, Ministry of Health, ACC and PHO requirements
- Strengthening relationships with key stakeholders including PHOs, funders and community partners
- Supporting continuous improvement, quality assurance and health promotion initiatives
- Contributing to organisational planning and service development
Ngaa puukenga me ngaa wheako – Skills and Experience To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Proven experience in general practice or primary health care management
- At least 3 years’ experience leading and managing professional teams
- Strong operational, financial and business management capability
- Experience working with Medtech or other Practice Management Systems
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving equity in health outcomes
- Full NZ drivers’ licence
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
A relevant qualification in health management, business, management or a related discipline will be highly regarded
