Poipoia Te Mokopuna – Early Learning Whaanau Support
  

Turuki Health Care is a kaupapa Maaori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing and social services across the Taamaki Makaurau region. We provide quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare and support to whaanau.
 

 
Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
  
The Poipoia Te Mokopuna service focuses on supporting whaanau with tamariki under three years of age to engage in early learning, strengthen developmental outcomes and build readiness for enrolment into early learning services in ways that align with whānau aspirations and cultural values.
  
We are seeking a passionate and whaanau-focused kaimahi to walk alongside whaanau and support early learning journeys for tamariki aged 0-3 years.
  
This is a community-based role and may require flexibility in hours and travel to meet whaanau needs.
  

  
Ngaa haepapa matua me ngaa mahi – Key Responsibilities and Functions 

• Support and educate parents and caregivers to make informed decisions about their tamariki’s learning and development
• Build whaanau confidence to lead early learning activities within the home
• Plan and deliver free, accessible, play-based activities aligned to children’s interests and developmental stages
• Conduct regular home visits and facilitate group-based activities
• Build strong relationships with ECE providers, community services and stakeholders
• Promote Turuki services and contribute to positive community awareness
• Contribute to quality improvement, health equity and a positive team culture
• Uphold Turuki values and demonstrate manaakitanga in all interactions

  
  
Ngaa puukenga me ngaa wheako – Skills and Experience 

• Background in early childhood education, early learning or child development
• Experience working with parents and whaanau in complex or community-based environments
• Experience facilitating playgroups, workshops or whaanau-based activities
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Full New Zealand drivers’ licence
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours and travel as required
• Knowledge of, or willingness to develop Te Reo Maaori me oona tikanga
• New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa with no restrictions
