WHO YOU ARE
The role of the Maintenance and Grounds Coordinator is to carry out day-to-day maintenance activities of rooms, common areas and building grounds, ensuring all work undertaken complies with statutory obligations and Australian Standards.
To be successful in this role you will have experience performing tradesman assistance tasks and the ability to perform a broad range of general services. Ideally you will have gained your experience within the hospitality industry, and will actively demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to be a part of a newly established team.
This role will keep you busy, whilst offering variety in duties day-to-day. You could be tasked with completing general repairs such as plumbing, light bulb changes, painting, plastering and carpentry, or may be required to carry out general investigative work to ascertain potential issues. You will need to have the physical ability to carry out your duties; and able to establish good working relations with contractors. Communication skills are key in this role as our staff and residents come from diverse backgrounds.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities as Maintenance Services Officer will include, but not be limited to:
- Be responsible for the general maintenance and minor repairs for the common areas and throughout the building
- Work within and maintain procedures and standards for all operational areas to maximize efficiency of resources
- Maintain the highest level of maintenance, safety, and security at all times
- Attend a brief meeting with the Reporting Manager each morning to receive new work orders and instructions
- Advise the Reporting Manager of any work that is identified and requires attention by external contractors
- Respond to urgent repairs or issues required
- Ensure all works on premises do not void or affect standing warrantees and/or guarantees.
- Liaise and co-ordinate any additional trades people that may be required to enter and perform tasks onsite
- Be responsible for the general maintenance and minor repairs for the kitchens used in the common areas and for the BBQ, the iron facilities, and lights throughout the building
- Maintain the maintenance workshop in good order, tidy up daily and properly store stock in the lock up cupboards
Our mandatory requirements include:
- Valid National Police Check
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia
- Working with Children's Check/Blue Card
- Current Drivers’ License
