A largest Global Ground Handling Company at Auckland Airport, delivering time-critical logistics services is seeking experienced Baggage Handler and Ramp Agents.
  
Role Purpose
Provide baggage and cargo loading and unloading services and other general duties to assist organisaton in meeting operational requirements, safety, and performance targets, in accordance with relevant business and industry specific legislative/regulatory requirements. You may be assigned in either the Baggage Make Up operation or on the Ramp depending on your skill set.
  
As a Ramp Agent you will support airlines by ensuring luggage and cargo reaches its intended destination on time and in the best possible condition, while maintaining policies, standards and safety requirements of the customer and the Company.

Main Accountabilities

• Assisting with the operation of the automated Baggage Handling System.
• Setting up and delivering Unit Load Devices (ULD’s) and/or baggage carts ready for departing or inbound baggage.
• Receiving, weighing (where applicable), and delivering crew baggage and personal effects to/from aircraft
• Unloading arrival baggage in accordance with the inbound load message and delivery from the aircraft to the customer and arrange where applicable for the transfer/transit connection of baggage.
• Assisting the Ramp operation in the delivering baggage to and from aircraft site
• Unloading arrival cargo and passing to Cargo team.
• Operation and handling of forklift and mechanical lift equipment for the movement of ULD’s and cargo during processing of freight to/from staging area.
• Assist with removal of fragile items to appropriate location for collection by bag room staff.
• Assist in loading/unloading of passenger baggage from carousel.
• Liaise with airline representative as required.
• Maintain baggage records as required
• Assist passengers to resolve baggage problems as per baggage complaints procedure.

What we need from you

• Hold a full NZ license. 
• Previous experience in Baggage reconciliation system
• Ability to lift up to 35kg repetitively.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• You are well presented with outstanding communication skills.
• Happy to work in all weather conditions.
• Have experience or flexibility to work on a 7-day rotational shift roster as per flight schedules.
• Must pass Ministry of Justice check and drug test. 

If successful, you will be required to undergo an Airport Security check which must return a clean criminal history and a pre-employment medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol test.
