Southern Cross Care QLD is seeking a friendly and efficient Administration Officer to provide administrative support to our Castra Residential Aged Care Home in Murgon. About the role:
Working in this role, you will provide a wide range of administrative support to our home to maintain financial, client and rostering systems as well as efficient and confidential administrative support to the Managers.
You will have excellent organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail and solid IT skills to ensure the home’s administrative processes are streamlined and effective. You’ll have great interpersonal skills and enjoy being the first person to greet visitors, families and loved ones to the home; and be a go-to person for general enquiries.
A friendly sociable personality coupled with empathy and compassion for the elderly will make you a perfect fit for this client-centred “front of house” role.
Some of your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Assisting with new admissions to the home and preparing records for new residents.
- Liaising with the Managers when vacancies occur to ascertain type of Resident required.
- Maintaining relevant documentation (e.g. Resident lists) at the direction of the Manager.
- Liaising with residents and their families to support the transition into care from an administrative perspective.
- Coordinating and assisting manager with rostering as required.
- Maintaining of various computer data bases.
- Reception duties – face to face and over the phone.
- Processing of invoices in preparation for payment and maintenance of petty cash.
- Maintaining staff personal records including registrations and certificates.
- Assisting in minute taking for committee meetings as required.
What will you bring to the role?
- Experience working in an administrative role within Aged Care or Health Care setting (desired).
- Administrative and reception experience.
- Excellent written, oral and numerical skills.
- Problem solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
- High level information technology skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
