About the Position

Our large site at Herons Creek comprises both a Saw Mill and Dry Mill and is staffed with a welcoming and social team. We are seeking a energetic and self-motivated Saw Doctor to join our Saw shop who is looking for a new challenge to progress their career.

If you are a highly motivated individual with a “can do” attitude, strong work ethic, drive to learn, strong focus on safety and a reliable individual then we want you to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.


Duties of the role:

• Performing routine service work and preventative maintenance to sawing equipment. 
• Maintaining sawing machines, tools, and performance to a high standard.
• Grinding, honing and sharpening of chipper knives.
• Re-tipping, sharpening and tensioning bandsaws.
• Re-tipping, sharpening and benching circular saws
• Machining and set up of guides.
• Alignments, machine set up, guide projections, wheel grinds and cross alignments on saw centers.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving of any issues which arise.

  
  
The successful applicants will have:

• A desire to continue to learn and grow.
• Certificate III Saw Doctoring or a suitable/ relevant trade qualification.
• Good time management skills, being able to prioritise tasks.
• Commitment and hardworking attitude.
• Ability to work autonomously and/or part of a team.
