London & Southeast
Help Shape Safer, More Resilient Environments
Our client is a market-leading UK manufacturer of specialist lighting solutions designed for some of the most demanding environments. Their products are trusted across secure healthcare facilities, custodial environments, transport infrastructure and public spaces where reliability, durability and performance are critical.
Due to continued growth and ambitious expansion plans, they are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sector Specialist to develop business opportunities across the Custodial and Secure Healthcare sectors throughout London and the Southeast.
The Opportunity
This is more than a sales role.
You'll become a trusted adviser to consultants, contractors, end users and key stakeholders across two highly specialised sectors. Working closely with an established sales team, you'll identify opportunities, influence specifications, develop long-term client relationships and help strengthen the organisation's position as a leading supplier within secure environments.
If you enjoy building relationships, uncovering opportunities and seeing projects through from concept to completion, this role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities
You will take ownership of developing sales growth within the Custodial and Secure Healthcare sectors by:
- Building and executing a clear territory and sector growth strategy.
- Identifying, qualifying and securing new project opportunities.
- Influencing lighting specifications at design and planning stages.
- Managing projects through the sales cycle from concept through to order placement.
- Developing strong relationships with consultants, contractors, wholesalers and end users.
- Acting as a sector expert and trusted adviser to customers.
- Representing the business at industry events, exhibitions, conferences and customer meetings.
- Demonstrating products, presenting new solutions and delivering technical sales presentations.
- Working closely with customer service, marketing and technical teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and activity reports.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues where appropriate while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
The role will involve visiting customer sites, including custodial facilities, secure healthcare institutions and construction projects.
About You We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded individual who combines strong relationship-building skills with a proactive approach to winning business.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in specification sales, technical sales or project-based selling.
- Strong account management and business development skills.
- The ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills.
- A self-motivated and results-driven mindset.
- Curiosity, resilience and a natural ability to identify opportunities.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to team success.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience within lighting, electrical products, building services, construction, healthcare or custodial sectors would be advantageous, although candidates from related technical sales backgrounds will also be considered.
Why Apply? This is an opportunity to join a growing and well-established manufacturer with a strong reputation in specialist markets.
You'll benefit from:
- A field-based role with significant autonomy.
- Comprehensive onboarding and product training.
- Support from a knowledgeable and experienced team.
- The opportunity to work on high-profile projects within specialist sectors.
- Genuine career development opportunities.
- A collaborative culture that values innovation, continuous improvement and professional growth.
