JOB: FINANCE & OPERATIONS MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: LIGHTERS DIVISION
REPORTING TO GENERAL MANAGER
MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Clipper UK is a subsidiary of a major group in Spain. The company has seen considerable growth in the last 5 years and has moved into new and exciting product areas. We are recruiting for the above position that will report directly to the General Manager as well as liaise with the finance department at the group H/O in Barcelona.
We are looking for a part qualified candidate who will fit into a small but friendly culture and be able to manage and implement improvements in accounting, IT & operational procedures. It is important that the individual has the drive and determination to bring about change where needed and manage the process within the business.
DEFINITION OF FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role would include:
· Full monthly management account responsibility with follow up commentary for HQ
· Supervise and take full responsibility of the external auditors.
· Management of Sage 200 standard software and other systems
· Management of finance staff (2 people)
· Team Development and training
· Budgeting & forecasting
· Maintenance of cash flow & forecasting
· Cash management & bank reconciliation support
· Vat returns & submission
· Corporation, payroll, PAYE & VAT Tax payment control with HMRC
· Intrastat & other government submission
· Stock control supervision and capital employed management
· Assess / implement insurance requirements in line with group policy
· Supervision of expenses & car costs to agreed procedures / limits
· Currency forward contract in line with the budget and purchase
· Liaison and support to GM on HR issues
· Implement, suggest & Improve procedures in all areas of responsibilities
· Understand the need to be a team player in a small but growing business environment
· Adhoc reporting

EXPERIENCE
We require at least 5 years' experience in finance and ideally 3 years in a position with similar characteristics
Valuable knowledge of the SME Business
Good Excel
COMPETENCES
Knowledge of FMCG of the UK market
Well organized, capacity for teamwork and of coordinating with different teams.
Analytical capacity. Very commercial profile. Communication skills.
Leadership skills and strategic vision to be able to assume the versatility and long-term Management.
Availability to travel in the UK and abroad.
Valuable: SAGE knowledge.
