�� Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled)
Full-time | Location: Hertfordshire - 40% off-site
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + bonus

We're supporting a UK-based lighting manufacturer recognised for their innovative approach to commercial and architectural lighting. They pride themselves on their agility, collaboration, and commitment to continuous improvement.
 
The Role
This is a hands-on and varied role for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of maintaining, repairing, and improving lighting production equipment and systems.
You'll act as a key support for operations and production, ensuring all machinery, tools, and fittings remain in top working order. You'll also represent the business on customer sites, resolving product or installation issues quickly and professionally — turning every customer interaction into a positive experience.
This position involves close collaboration across departments, including Production, Technical, and Sales.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to customer service and maintenance requests, both on-site and at HQ.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Support production with lighting fitting assembly, quality control, and R&D improvements.
• Maintain all site machinery, equipment, and tools to full working standards.
• Lead or assist in small project work across the business.
• Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed and updated.
• Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to site visits.

About You

• 3+ years' experience in a maintenance or multi-skilled engineering role, ideally in manufacturing or lighting.
• Mechanically biased with good electrical skills (motors, systems, fault finding).
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative operations team.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong communicator with a practical, solution-focused mindset.
• Flexible approach and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Forklift licence preferred (training can be provided).

Qualifications

• EAL Level 2 or 3 (Electrical Engineering) or equivalent.
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, OGL - training provided).
