Project Manager - London
To act as head of projects with overall responsibility for performance and deliverables.
Guide the project teams to meet objectives providing strategic direction with strong
leadership and mentoring on project issues, assisting with client relationships and escalated
situations.
Maintain overview of financial status on all projects with feedback and reporting to directors
and team leads. This will include capturing scope variations and negotiating additional fees.
Provide regular reporting on team performance and targets working with directors on business
strategy, direction, development and growth.
Analyse staffing needs to meet requirements, carrying out regular team 121’s, catch ups,
addressing concerns and issues.

The following provides a list of duties associated with the role. The Project Manager is
expected to:
• Oversee project budgets.
• Track project profitability.
• Resource management, including overseeing planning and team allocation using project
management tools, and leading the implementation of a new project management
system.
• Manage ongoing system optimization, maintain data integrity, liaise with software
suppliers, and coordinate with project managers in other offices to ensure consistent
adoption and effective use.
• Project planning – ensure teams effectively forward plan projects.
• Project deadlines – ensure teams successfully manage project deliverables,
communicating with all parties/stakeholders and managing expectations with regular
status updates and reports.
• Communication – mentor and guide on professional skills.
• Review contract documents, making amendments and negotiating where required.
• Risk management – maintain and review the risk register.
• Evaluate team performance for project and commercial management.
• Programmes – ensure Gantt charts and reports are completed and issued.
• Deal with escalated issues in a proactive manner.

Key Skills & Qualifications
The Project Manager is expected to have the following key-skills:
• An ability to manage their time efficiently.

• Proven experience in a project management role within the lighting design, architectural,
interior design, or engineering sectors.
• Strong understanding of the lighting design process, industry workflows, and integration
with architectural design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in engaging with clients
and consultants.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Proficient in project management tools and platforms
• Highly organised, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Understanding of construction phases, technical coordination, and specification writing.
• Degree-level education in architecture, engineering, design, or project management (or
equivalent experience).
• Commercial Management experience.
• Ability to negotiate effectively.
• Ability to address and manage sensitive or complex project issues with senior
stakeholders.
Desirable Attributes
• PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
• Experience working on international projects across different markets.
• An interest in lighting design, architecture, and sustainability.
• Experience working in a design-led or creative studio environment.
• Experience in implementing new project management tools and platforms. Including
liaising with project management platform suppliers and implementing the transition
between platforms.
