Our national Corporate & Commercial group works with clients across a variety of sectors and the full spectrum of corporate and commercial transactions, including:
- Data, Privacy and Technology

- Joint ventures, partnerships and business structuring and restructuring
- Complex commercial agreements
- Corporate governance and compliance
- Company secretarial matters
About the role This role is central to supporting fee earners across commercial and corporate matters, with a
strong focus on billing and broader administrative support.
Billing responsibilities include: - Ensuring timely and accurate time recording by fee earners, providing assistance where needed
- Confirming correct charge-out rates for each client on matter creation
- Producing WIP reports for review
- Preparing pre-bills and processing amendments
- Finalising and posting bills
- Sending bills to clients where appropriate
- Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders on billing and related issues
General administration responsibilities include: - Opening and closing files and matters
- Electronic file maintenance (FileSite)
- Editing documents in mark-up and maintaining version control
- Coordinating meetings (Outlook)
- Preparing correspondence and commercial documents
- Creating Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
- Providing general administrative support
The nature of the practice, particularly regarding IT/TM matters, requires billing to be undertaken throughout the month.
About you You may currently be in a billing-focused role and looking for broader scope, or a legal assistant who enjoys billing and wants to make it a key part of your role.
You will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with a can-do attitude and a genuine desire to achieve client goals. You will also have:
- At least 3–4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn systems quickly
- Experience with Aderant and Expert (preferred)
- Excellent client service skills
- Friendly and professional communication (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Initiative and responsiveness to instruction
