About Us The Ministry for Pacific Peoples (MPP) is the Crown’s principal advisor on policies and interventions aimed at improving outcomes for Pacific peoples in Aotearoa. We bring Pacific voices and perspectives into the heart of government decision-making.

The Role - Fixed Term, 12 Months

As a
Senior Analyst, Data & Insights, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality analysis and evidence to support strategic initiatives for Pacific communities. Working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you’ll generate insights that inform Ministers, shape policy, and contribute to measurable outcomes for Pacific peoples.
You will:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Pacific-focused data to uncover insights and identify opportunities
- Support the development of data-driven strategies, working closely with senior analysts and decision-makers
- Translate complex data into compelling visuals and accessible recommendations
- Provide mentoring and support to junior analysts
- Work alongside other government agencies, leveraging the wider data ecosystem to strengthen Pacific outcomes
About You
We’re looking for someone with strong analytical skills, cultural competence, and a drive to make a difference.
You’ll ideally have:
- 3–5+ years’ experience in a data, research, or analytical role
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in data science, statistics, public policy, or related fields
- Proven ability to present data-driven insights to a range of audiences
- Sound understanding of government systems, processes, and stakeholder relationships
- A commitment to Pacific communities, and the cultural capability to navigate those relationships respectfully and effectively
Experience working with Pacific data or communities, and a working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities, will be highly valued.
