Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our New South Wales team, based in Parramatta.
In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of a diverse portfolio of floodplain management, flood modelling, drainage and hydraulic engineering projects across Australia. Working alongside recognised industry experts, you'll have the opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges, develop your expertise and contribute to projects that help communities better understand and manage the impacts of flooding and climate change.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with a highly skilled team and make a tangible difference to the resilience of communities and environments across the country. We are looking for a Project Engineer with strong technical capability, a collaborative mindset and hands on experience using TUFLOW and/or QGIS.
Key Outcomes
- Deliver flood modelling, floodplain management and hydraulic engineering projects for government and private sector clients.
- Apply and interpret hydrologic and hydraulic modelling techniques to solve complex flooding challenges.
- Develop and interrogate flood models using TUFLOW and related software tools.
- Develop QGIS and spatial datasets to support model development, analysis, mapping and project delivery.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, flood studies, flood impact assessments and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across water resources, coastal, environmental and infrastructure projects.
- Build your client and stakeholder engagement skills across a variety of projects.
- Develop practical project management skills, including planning, budgeting and project delivery.
- Gain exposure to proposals, business development and how new project opportunities are developed.
About You You are passionate about solving real-world flooding and water management challenges and enjoy working as part of a collaborative, high-performing team. You combine technical expertise with strong communication skills and are motivated by delivering outcomes that make a positive difference to communities and the environment.
Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor of Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia (or equivalent), with at least 3 years' relevant professional experience.
- Experience in floodplain management, hydrology, hydraulics, water resources or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience using TUFLOW for hydraulic and flood modelling.
- Strong working knowledge of QGIS and spatial data analysis.
- Experience interpreting and communicating technical findings through reports, presentations and mapping outputs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Project management and client-facing experience will be highly regarded.
