The Opportunity
We are seeking a Financial Reporting & Audit Accountant to join our Finance team based in Brisbane. This newly created role will play a critical part in preparing the business statutory audit while strengthening financial reporting, controls, compliance, and finance systems.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will help build audit readiness capability, improve financial processes, and support the continued evolution of a scalable and efficient finance function.

Key outcomes of the role

• Review finance processes, controls and reporting to assess audit readiness and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
• Conduct a gap analysis outlining the current state, future state and actions required to achieve an audit-ready finance function.
• Provide recommendations and a prioritised roadmap to support the transition to an audit-ready finance function.
• Lead the preparation of audit-ready working papers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Support the delivery of accurate monthly and annual financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards.
• Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and compliance processes across the finance function.
• Identify and support finance systems improvements, automation and process efficiencies.

Contribute as a valued member of the finance team, providing hands-on support across day-to-day operations and ad hoc finance projects.

About You
You are a technically strong accountant who enjoys combining financial reporting expertise with process improvement and audit preparation. You thrive in a collaborative environment, are highly organised, and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

You are equally comfortable working through detailed accounting matters and engaging with stakeholders across the business to create practical solutions.
Key skills and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification or studying towards.
• Minimum three years of post-graduate accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit preparation.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, governance frameworks, and accounting standards.
• Experience improving finance systems, processes, and reporting efficiency.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving capability.
