I’m working behind the scenes with a well-established professional services firm that’s adding a Project Accountant to their accounting team — and this is a really solid seat for someone who likes being close to the action.
  
If you enjoy working with Project Managers, owning billing from start to finish, and partnering closely with leadership (instead of being stuck in the back office), keep reading.
  
�� What makes this role a good one
• You’ll work directly with the Controller
• Strong exposure to project accounting & billing
• Hands-on, visible work that actually matters to the business

�� What you’ll be doing
• Handling project billing (with PMs & management)
• Helping with project setups, subconsultant POs & reporting
• Supporting AR — client invoices, cash receipts, PM questions
• Jumping in on general accounting tasks & internal communication
• Being a reliable go-to for project accounting questions
  
✅ What they’re looking for
• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a professional services setting
• Solid understanding of financial & cost accounting
• Deltek Vantagepoint experience is a nice bonus BUT NOT REQUIRED AT ALL
• Detail-oriented, responsive, and easy to work with
