Talent-UK are recruiting on behalf of our client, for a Despatch Coordinator to join their friendly and established team based in Wakefield.
Our client is a specialist manufacturer of bespoke plastic moulded components, supplying customers across a range of industries in the UK and worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in despatch, warehousing or logistics who enjoys a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring customer orders are packed correctly, booked for delivery and despatched on time, with accurate labelling and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pack and prepare finished products securely, ensuring orders are complete and protected for delivery.
- Arrange deliveries and collections with couriers and hauliers, selecting appropriate services.
- Prepare despatch labels, delivery notes and all relevant shipping paperwork.
- Check orders against documentation to ensure the correct products are sent to the correct customers.
- Maintain accurate despatch records, update systems and file paperwork appropriately.
- Monitor deliveries, resolve queries and communicate any delays to customers and colleagues.
- Liaise with production, sales and office teams to coordinate despatch schedules.
- Monitor packing material stock levels and report replenishment requirements.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe despatch area, following all health and safety procedures.
The Ideal Candidate: - Previous experience in despatch, warehousing, logistics or a similar hands-on role.
- Confident using computers, email, Microsoft Office and online booking systems.
- Good attention to detail with accurate data-entry and organisational skills.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both over the telephone and by email.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive, practical approach with the flexibility to help across the business when required.
- Comfortable with manual handling and spending much of the working day on your feet.
Desirable: Experience booking deliveries with couriers or hauliers, working within manufacturing, or using stock control or ERP systems.
What's on Offer: - £12.71 per hour.
- Temporary to Permanent, full-time employment.
- Working 8am-4.45pm Monday to Thursday & Early finish every Friday at 2:30pm.
