Pacific People Solutions are very pleased to partner with our valued client, Alpha HPA, to source Structural Mechanical Piping (SMP) Project Engineer for their Stage Two Project, based on site in Gladstone.

The Alpha HPA First Project Stage Two is an integral part of the company’s vision to successfully commercialise the ultra-high purity aluminium product range that will support the global decarbonisation transition.

The SMP Project Engineer will be a key part of the project team. Reporting to the SMP Package Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design packages for the construction of the greenfield Alpha HPA First Project.

This role will include various piping and pre-fabrication packages required for the project, liaising with the engineering design team, commercial, procurement & contracts as well as sub-contractors. In addition, you will be attending project planning meetings to drive the project's quality, cost and schedule.

This role will be a permanent position, based from the Project office in Spring Hill. As part of this role there will be the opportunity to travel to Europe and SE Asia in order to oversee the expedition of these procurement packages. The duration for travel could be 4-6 weeks in duration, and longer as is necessary. 

We would be really pleased to receive your application should you possess:

• 10+ years of project management experience 
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with RPEQ (preferred)
• previous early contractor involvement (ECI) with a successful track-record would be highly advantageous
• Ability to manage major SMP package (totaling 100M value) including pre-award/post-award design and supply, and expedition of goods/services
• Well developed conceptual, analytical and planning skills coupled with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional communication skills with a focus on forming collaborative relationships within the business and with overseas supply partners
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to organisational polices & procedures.
