Head of Engineering
Dundee | £80,000 - £90,000 + 15% bonus
Are you an engineering leader with strong GMP experience and the ability to bring Engineering, Production and Quality together?
Entrust Resource Solutions is partnering with an established manufacturing business to appoint a Head of Engineering at its Dundee site.
Reporting directly to the Site Head and joining the Site Leadership Team, you'll shape the site's engineering strategy, develop its people and lead investment in equipment and infrastructure. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact on manufacturing performance, equipment reliability and engineering culture.
The role
You'll lead a team with two direct reports and eight indirect reports, building a collaborative, solution-focused culture with clear ownership and accountability.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining the site engineering strategy and five-year capital investment plan.
• Leading CapEx projects, developing business cases and overseeing machinery selection, purchasing and implementation.
• Partnering with Production to improve line efficiency, equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Driving Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), planned maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Working closely with Quality on change controls, deviations, CAPAs and validation activities.
• Overseeing engineering services, utilities, contractors and maintenance delivery.
• Developing the team through coaching, knowledge sharing and succession planning.
• Maintaining strong engineering, health, safety and environmental standards.

About you
You'll be a confident engineering leader who can set direction, develop people and work effectively across functions. You'll bring a practical approach to solving problems and the ability to balance day-to-day manufacturing priorities with longer-term investment.
We're looking for:

• Proven experience within a GMP manufacturing environment, with practical involvement in change controls, deviations and validation.
• Engineering leadership experience and a track record of building a positive team culture.
• Experience delivering capital projects, managing budgets and developing investment business cases.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance, reliability and root cause analysis.
• The ability to build effective relationships with Production, Quality and senior stakeholders.
• A degree in Engineering or a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent qualification.

Experience with TPM, Lean or Six Sigma would be advantageous.
