Position Summary The position will be an integral part of the team to achieve the sales goals of the assigned company’s Engine, Turbine, and Robotic Spot-Welding business unit products, and systems in the defined market area. They will provide both business development for market entry of products, and the acquisition of new customers in growth segments to position us as a leading supplier in North America. This will entail frequent visits to customers for product demonstrations, technical presentations, and strategic customer solution discussions.
Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Sales & Applications Engineer – Pressure Sensors
Regularly meets with and gains an understanding of key customer needs and desires in the product are defined.
Identifies opportunities for sales and new product offerings in the assigned product areas.
Generates appointments and schedules customer meetings and presentations, including report generation of important customer visits and events.
Evaluation of customer requirements and preparation of RFQs
Supports the introduction of the company’s products with customers through direct on-site support potentially including product installation and training for customer engineers and technicians.
Supports the market development of Service and Rental business opportunities in the product area.
Gains competitive market analysis information and helps develop sales and marketing strategies for specific market sectors with the continuous elaboration of competitor and market information.
Definition and execution of measures and activities for strengthening relationships with existing customers with the target to extend the business with these customers
Use of the CRM system according to the rules: e.g. account information, visit information, opportunity management
Participates at trade shows for product area and follows up on opportunities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Experience, Skills & Abilities of the Sales & Applications Engineer – Pressure Sensors
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college/university in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 experience in Technical Sales is required.
Minimum of 2 years of practical experience installing and troubleshooting Combustion Analysis systems and associated sensors highly preferred.
Technical knowledge of engine combustion chambers, automotive R&D sensors, and associated electronics required.
Ability to identify opportunities for sales and new product offerings in the assigned product areas.
Experience in direct on-site support including product installation and training for customer engineers and technicians.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Self-Reliant, adaptable with a positive and motivated personality.
Competent with ERP and CRM systems (SAP). Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically MS Excel.
Physical requirements: ability to sit at a desk 90% of the workday; ability to use a computer 80% of the workday. Ability to lift products and equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Up to 50% travel is required for application support, trade show, and training at our offices, Vendor, and/or Customer sites.
