We’re on the hunt for a commercially sharp Category Manager to own and accelerate performance across critical product categories within BNT & TATP’s (Truck & Trailer Parts) Commercial portfolio.
You’ll set the category strategy and make it real, driving revenue, margin and market share through disciplined range, pricing and margin optimisation. Just as importantly, you’ll bring the strategy to life with our sales teams by building internal capability, lifting network confidence, and providing targeted in-field support. This role suits a strategic operator with the courage to turn insight into action.
No automotive experience? No problem. Senior category management experience is a must, along with the right attitude and appetite to learn. We’ll back you with hands-on training to get you up to speed fast.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll set and run clear, commercially grounded category strategies aligned to BNT & TATP’s growth ambitions and what our customers need. That means shaping the right ranges, nailing price positioning, and building smart promotional plans, all backed by strong market, customer and competitor insight.
You’ll partner closely with Group Procurement and key suppliers to lock in competitive trading terms and bring new ranges to market with rock-solid business cases. You’ll actively manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, availability, compliance and long-term strategic alignment.
Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Inventory and Finance, you’ll turn strategy into execution across the branch network. That includes supporting sales initiatives, shaping promo calendars, enabling product training, and building real confidence in the offer on the ground.
You’ll run a tight performance rhythm, tracking revenue, margin, range effectiveness, stock availability and promo ROI. If something’s off, you’ll move fast, adjusting range, pricing, promo intensity or supplier mix to get results back on track.
You’ll stay close to the market and competitor moves, making sure Bapcor stays relevant and competitive across key commercial segments.
Where you fit
You’ll report to the Group General Manager, Marketing and operate as a senior individual contributor with strong cross-functional influence. You won’t sit in a silo; you’ll be in the middle of decisions that matter.
Externally, you’ll be the senior commercial interface with key suppliers, representing Bapcor NZ’s category priorities and negotiating outcomes that deliver both near-term performance and long-term advantage.
