Title: DESL Quality Manager 
Location: London
Rate: £400 - £450 p/d 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced DESL Quality Manager to lead the quality function across a market leading MEP business. 

This senior role will oversee quality assurance and quality control across multiple large-scale projects involving several subcontractors, disciplines and locations. You will work closely with project teams and senior management to promote a culture of continuous improvement, zero defects and right-first-time delivery.

The Role Reporting to the Quality Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the company’s quality function. You will ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with company standards, contractual obligations and relevant industry codes and regulations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing the quality function across UK operations.
• Managing, mentoring and developing a geographically dispersed quality team.
• Implementing an effective quality programme focused on zero defects and right-first-time delivery.
• Developing project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and supporting quality documentation.
• Establishing and maintaining quality systems, policies and procedures.
• Supporting business development and estimating teams during project tenders.
• Providing technical expertise to support project and senior management decisions.
• Conducting audits and reviews of project sites, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensuring corrective actions are completed and non-conformances are resolved promptly.
• Developing project completion and handover strategies aligned with contractual requirements.
• Ensuring completion and handover processes are implemented from the beginning of each project.
• Identifying quality risks, improvement opportunities and practical solutions.
• Reporting regularly on quality performance, trends and initiatives.
• Supporting the delivery of strategic quality and continuous improvement programmes.
• Building strong working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
• Representing the business at relevant industry and recruitment events.

We are looking for an established Quality Manager with experience in a senior quality position within the construction, engineering or building-services sector.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of construction quality management systems and procedures.
• Experience overseeing quality across multiple or large-scale construction projects.
• A detailed understanding of quality assurance, quality control, inspections, audits and project handover.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental management systems.
• Experience leading, developing and motivating high-performing teams.
• The ability to manage people and systems across multiple project locations.
• Strong technical capability and excellent attention to detail.
• Experience working with subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
• The ability to analyse project requirements and develop practical, commercially viable solutions.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
• The confidence to operate effectively in tender, project-delivery and crisis-management environments.
• A proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.
• The ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• A high level of accountability, integrity and professional pride.
