Job Title: Flat Roofing Estimator
Location: Essex
Salary Range: £50,000 - £60,000 + Package 

About your new company:

Our client is a leading specialist roofing contractor operating across London & South East on a variety roofing works including; flat roofing, leadwork, slate, asphalt roofing, and metal roofing projects for leading tier 1 & 2 main contractors for both new build and refurbishment schemes.

Role overview:

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tenders for new build and refurbishment roofing projects, with a focus on both pitched and flat roofing. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of roofing materials and the ability to work closely with clients, suppliers, and manufacturers. . The Estimator will also ensure that all tenders are followed up on, maintaining strong communication with clients and partners. Experience in flat roofing estimation is advantageous. Reporting to the director, the Estimator will assist in negotiations and help ensure projects meet client requirements and profitability goals.

Responsibilities for the Flat Roofing Estimator:

• Overseeing the accurate delivery of estimates and ensuring that the quality of estimates meets high standards.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards during the preparation of estimates and throughout the tendering process.
• Monitoring project timelines and budgets, and making necessary adjustments to ensure successful estimation.
• Ensuring that all tenders have been followed up on, maintaining open communication with clients regarding the status and outcomes of tenders.
• Liaising with clients and maintaining high satisfaction with the quality of estimates delivered.
• Prepare and submit accurate and detailed cost estimates for flat roofing projects, including new build and refurbishment works.
• Evaluate tender documents and understand the scope of work required for each project.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for estimating.
• Prepare bills of quantities (BoQ), schedules of rates, and material take-offs as required.
• Ensure all tenders are followed up on in a timely manner to maintain client relationships and pursue potential business opportunities.

• A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in estimating within the roofing industry, with a strong focus on both new build and refurbishment projects.
• Demonstrable experience in flat roofing projects.
• Proven track record of working closely with clients, manufacturers, and suppliers, ensuring accurate costings and delivery of high-quality service.
• Experience in estimating solar works is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of roofing materials and systems, with the ability to advise clients on appropriate solutions.
