About the Opportunity: Scouts SA now have an excellent and rare opportunity to step into a standalone HR Business Partner role where you can influence both day to day operations and strategy. As the HR Business Partner, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and leaders across Scouts SA to deliver contemporary, practical, HR advice while leading and working across the organisation's people and culture function.
This is a broad generalist role, ideal for someone who is a self-starter, enjoys being hands on working across the full employee lifecycle, and can confidently balance operational delivery with strategic thinking.
You'll play a critical role in building trust across the organisation, bringing structure to processes, and help implement improvements that are consistent, and strengthen culture, capability & performance. Supported by your manager and the CEO, you will have the autonomy and backing to make meaningful, lasting improvements.
Key Responsibilities: In this broad and influential role, you will have a fantastic opportunity to balance hands-on delivery, with strategic partnering, including but not limited to:
- Partnering with the SLT and people leaders, providing clear, practical, compliant and solutions-focused HR advice on a range of people related matters.
- Building strong, trusting relationships across all levels and acting as the go to advisor.
- Supporting leaders with workforce planning, team effectiveness and general people related enquiries, providing any relevant coaching and guidance.
- Taking ownership and delivering across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, people management & development, ER/IR, policy & process and offboarding, ensuring an excellent employee experience.
- Proactively identifying areas for improvement, risks and opportunities across current HR policy and practices.
- Taking the lead in improving policies, procedures and ways of working, ensuring they are practical, fit for purpose and aligned to Scouts SA strategy.
- Managing the HR system (ELMO), reporting needs and employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Delivering efficient, well organised HR processes & initiatives that support the organisation's day-to-day needs.
- Ensuring HR practices align with legislative requirements and organisational frameworks.
- Occasional interstate or regional travel, as needed.
To be successful in this role you will be: A capable HR professional who is organised and self-driven, takes ownership, follows things through, and looks for ways to improve on how things are done, together with the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience in a HR Advisory or Business Partner role, ideally in a generalist environment.
- Experience supporting or working within a casual workforce (highly regarded).
- Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 and relevant employment & Award legislation.
- Good systems skills, including experience with HRIS (ELMO desirable).
- Strong ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
- A calm, balanced approach and confidence to support leaders through people matters.
- A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to bring structure and consistency to processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
