About the role:
The Reconciliation Biller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of medical billing, payment postings, and account reconciliations across healthcare systems and payers. This role focuses on identifying and resolving discrepancies between expected and received reimbursements, coordinating with billing teams and payers, and supporting clean financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the revenue cycle, healthcare billing codes, and payer guidelines.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile payments received from insurance payers and patients against billed claims.
• Review and resolve variances between expected reimbursement and actual payments, including underpayments, overpayments, and denials.
• Post and adjust payments accurately within billing software or practice management systems.
• Investigate and follow up on missing or misapplied payments and zero-pay claims.
• Work closely with the billing team to ensure billing integrity and financial accuracy.
• Maintain accurate documentation of reconciliation findings, actions taken, and payer correspondence.
• Add payments to monthly reconciliation reports and contribute to month-end close procedures.
• Identify trends in denials or payment discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and payer-specific requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certification in Medical Billing and Coding preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in medical billing, payment posting, or revenue cycle reconciliation.
• Proficiency in billing and EHR systems (e.g., Caryfy, eClinicalWorks, Aanie, Rosemark, etc.).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
