This position owns MBSE architecture, systems integration, requirements flow-down, V&V strategy, and certification pathways. You will direct and mentor a senior technical bench of Principal and Chief Systems Engineers, ensuring cross-domain coherence across avionics, propulsion, electrical power, flight controls, autonomy, and safety.
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Dubai.
Core Accountabilities
MBSE Architecture and Digital Backbone
• Own the model-based systems engineering environment (SysML or equivalent)
• Develop global architecture, system boundaries, interfaces, and operational scenarios
• Maintain full digital traceability from stakeholder needs to subsystem requirements, V&V, hazard analysis, and certification evidence
• Establish modelling standards, toolchain governance, and integration with PLM and configuration management
• Drive trade studies, performance modelling, and system budgets
Senior Technical Leadership
• Lead and grow a team of Principal and Chief Systems Engineers
• Assign domain leadership across Flight Controls, Avionics, EPS, Propulsion, Autonomy, and related areas
• Chair design reviews and architecture sign-offs, enforcing standardisation and disciplined engineering
• Implement a culture of ownership, transparency, and reliability across mission-critical domains
• Develop engineering maturity frameworks, career pathways, and mentoring programs
Systems Integration and Program Delivery
• Direct integration of electromechanical, software, control, and communications systems
• Own ICDs, interface matrices, redundancy strategies, and dependency management
• Guide subsystem readiness gates from prototype through certifiable configurations
• Coordinate with Certification, Test, Manufacturing, and Flight Test to ensure executable plans
• Oversee SIL/HIL environments and simulation strategies
V&V and Certification Strategy
• Architect full V&V methodology from component to aircraft-level testing
• Ensure model-based traceability of requirements and evidence
• Build compliance pathways aligned to ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, or regional equivalents
• Interface with authorities and certification partners (EASA/FAA/CASA/UAE regulators)
Required Experience
• 10–15 or more years in Systems Engineering for aerospace, eVTOL, UAV, defence, or safety-critical platforms
• Proven leadership of senior technical talent (Principal and Chief engineers)
• Hands-on mastery of MBSE (SysML, Cameo, Capella, Enterprise Architect)
• Successful delivery of complex programs from concept to certification or operational deployment
• Deep understanding of redundancy, deterministic communications, and safety methods
• Ability to influence executives, boards, and external stakeholders at a high level
Willingness to relocate to Dubai
Highly Regarded
• Distributed electric propulsion and high-voltage power systems
• Flight controls and autonomy architecture using HIL/SIL
• Battery systems, thermal management, inverter / motor control
• Avionics communication networks CAN, ARINC 429, AFDX, Ethernet TSN
• Experience building new engineering organisations in high-growth environments
Leadership Outcomes
• Build and retain a world-class Systems Engineering function
• Establish MBSE as the program’s authoritative source of truth
• Reduce program risk through early integration, clarity, and traceability
• Deliver an aircraft architecture optimised for manufacturability, reliability, and certification
