Position: Heavy Truck Driver
Location: Waikato
Type: Full-time/Permanent
Pay Range: $33 to $35 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week
 
 
The Company: 
Our client is a well-established transport and logistics provider specialising in container transportation services. Known for their commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence, they pride themselves on maintaining high standards across their fleet, equipment, and customer service. 
  
  
Key Responsibilities: 
As a Heavy Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of containers while adhering to all company compliance and health and safety standards. 
  
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Operate a Class 5 truck with a variety of trailers
• Ensure all loads are secured and comply with height, weight, and width regulations 
• Follow all traffic laws and company policies at all times 
• Maintain accurate logbooks and complete all required documentation 
• Report any incidents, damage, or infringements promptly 
• Communicate with dispatch, operations, and customers professionally 
• Keep trucks and equipment clean, maintained, and in good working order 
• Provide friendly and professional customer service 

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

• Minimum of 1 year of proven relevant truck driving experience  
• Current Class 5 driver’s licence (or ability to convert international equivalent) 
• Experience operating heavy truck and trailer units  
• Strong understanding of load restraint and transport compliance  
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team  
• Reliable, punctual, and well-presented  
• Strong commitment to safety and following procedures  
• Ability to complete accurate records and documentation  
• Pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test on request 
• Provide a current criminal record check on request
