PURPOSE OF ROLE The Presales Solutions Engineer is a technical-sales focused professional responsible for growing revenue across the Brennan IT portfolio. As a Presales Solutions Engineer you will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical consulting expertise to assist Brennan IT winning new and retaining existing business.
The Presales Solutions Engineer core role is to provide pre-sales technical insights, solution design and solution support to the Australia Based Pre Sales Team and existing Brennan customers.
Presales Solutions Engineer will assist in developing technical solutions for existing customers with regards to Managed Services, Hybrid Cloud (IaaS, Azure, AWS), Modern Workplace (M365), Networking & Security and SDWAN. This role will also involve the development of customer facing artifacts, Work Breakdown Structures and Statements of Work (SOW) and the Individual must have the ability to follow the Internal processes for sign off and approvals prior to releasing documentation to the customer.
An individual who has a generalist technical background with ability a proven ability to problem solve will be key to being successful in this role. A successful Presales Solutions Engineer must also have the ability to understand the customer requirement, develop task based breakdown structures coupled with effort estimations in line with customer outcomes, and collaborate with the Pre Sales Architecture Community to develop and recommend solutions.
As a Presales Solutions Engineer you will
- Have an attention to detail and provide a high standard of technical solution design to clients and create SOWs
- Ability to think outside the box when scoping and solutioning outcomes In line with customer objectives and budget
- Support the development of Statement of Work's and follow due process for Internal sign off prior to customer release
- Ability to work across competing priorities and outcomes
- Ability to build relationships with the wider Pre Sales Architecture community and Practice Leads where required
- Support the development of proposals, presentations and technical documentation where required
- Contribute to the Product Development cycle by participating in internal and client Workshops.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working in collaboration with an Australian Based Pre Sales Architect to produce customer facing artifacts required during the sales process
- Utilising internal systems to create relevant artifacts for generation of Work Breakdown Structure, Managed Services Renewals and Variations and follow process for peer review and technical sign off
- Attending customer meetings to discuss and obtain customer requirement
- Development of a scope of work at the direction of key stakeholder
- Transcribing the technical outcomes and scope to an order form
- Owning and following the Internal process for peer review and approval prior to releasing to customer.
- Working alongside an Australian Based Pre Sale Architect to produce and develop customer artifacts required for a successful sale.
- Coordinating internal teams to inputs required to complete multi solutions proposals
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the company’s products and services offerings and methodologies.
- Any other task/duties aligned with your role or in support of your team as advised by your leader.
- Delivery of various pre-sales activities - including responding to customer requests for information, developing and planning conceptual solution presentations and demonstrations, technical/product guidance in meetings etc.
KEY COMPETENCIES - Passion for customer service
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbally and in writing)
- Proven experience of scoping and developing solutions
- Experience within an IT solutions business with experience in Cloud Services and IT outsourcing / managed services
- A “trusted advisor” and “project leader” attitude
- Well organised, ability to perform and work well under pressure.
- A willingness to work and adapt to a fast growing & changing environment
- Technical understanding of IaaS and Hybrid Cloud
- Technical understanding of Microsoft Office 365 Suite of technologies including, Endpoint Management, Security and Teams
- Understanding of Cloud Connectivity, Networking and SDWAN technologies
- Understanding of AI and how to apply AI to achieve the required outcomes
- Industry based technical certifications (e.g. Microsoft, , VMWare, EMC, Cisco, HP, Sophos, Fortinet)
- Experience working with Cloud, IaaS and Hosting solutions including products such as Microsoft Azure and Office 365
- Prior experience within an outsourced service delivery environment
- Proven experience and ability to provide consultative guidance combined with previous customer facing Presales and presentation experience
- 5+ years industry experience in professional services or experience in technical service delivery roles
