An opportunity for an experienced Distiller to join a fast growing ‘West Wales’ distillery team as Head Distiller.
Alongside the opportunity to develop your creativity and to innovate in the distillery space, the right person will be able to embrace the wide-open spaces, and the fantastic lifestyle that the West Wales coast offers. (It's not for everyone as it can be quite rural in parts but we love it!)
About the role of Head Distiller …
As Head Distiller you will have knowledge of all things Whisky as well as knowing your Gin from your tonic.
You will know all about the liquid gold from the grain to the glass and play a key role in the development of this pioneering Whisky project.
You will be joining in a newly created role as Head Distiller therefore you will be adaptable to change, be innovative and willing to get stuck in with the team therefore role will evolve.
You will manage the grain including milling, testing and assessing grain
You will be taking responsibility for and organise a mashing, fermenting and distilling schedule.
Support the development of the current distiller as well as play a key role in providing training and experience opportunities for apprentices and work experience placements in the near future.
You will have an aptitude for new technology and a desire to look to the future.
As Head Distiller you will ideally have relevant IBD qualifications however your experience, your passion for distilling Whisky and your ability to look at established processes through a non-industry standard lens will also be crucial attributes for you to demonstrate as the Head Distiller.
You will have demonstrable distillery experience and specifically, experience of distilling whisky.
You will be ready to step into a role where your creativity and desire to innovate will be welcomed as they grow.
You must have the right to work and reside in the UK.
While not essential for the role, it will be helpful for life in West Wales if you have a full driving licence and access to a car as public transport can be limited!
