SAG Workforce is seeking an experienced and adaptable Accounts Officer to join our growing team. This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can confidently manage high-volume invoicing, and has a strong understanding of general accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process a high volume of customer and supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Complete invoice reconciliation and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with debtor follow-up and account enquiries
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Support general accounting and month-end processes
• Assist with payroll processing when required
• Work closely with project managers and operational teams to ensure accurate job and cost allocation
• Help implement and improve accounting systems and administrative processes

About you

To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

• Previous accounts experience within the construction or civil infrastructure industry
• Demonstrated experience processing high-volume invoicing
• Strong proficiency in Xero
• A sound understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general accounting principles
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Confidence communicating with clients, suppliers and internal project teams
• A technology-focused mindset and the ability to quickly learn new systems
• A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
• Previous payroll experience will be highly regarded
