Executive Medical Director, CNS Centre of Excellence – US based
In this brand-new Senior Medical Leadership opportunity, we’re looking to hire a CNS Specialist to lead our new centre of excellence (COE) division dedicated to Central Nervous Systems (CNS) clinical trials. This is a key Strategic, Clinical & Leadership opportunity that reports to our Chief Scientific Officer.

Responsibilities
The Executive Medical Director, CNS Centre of Excellence is a senior medical leadership role responsible for shaping and executing Avance Clinical’s CNS (Psychiatry/Neurology) strategy across all phases of drug development, with a focus on neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders and early- to mid-phase trials. Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership Team (CEO, COO, CSO), this role provides expert medical oversight, strategic direction, and therapeutic leadership to drive clinical excellence, scientific innovation, and sponsor success across Avance’s CNS (Psychiatry/Neurology) portfolio.
This role will lead the development and operationalization of Avance’s CNS (Psychiatry/Neurology) Centre of Excellence, serving as a central platform for embedding best practices, harmonizing CNS (Psychiatry/Neurology) trial execution, and building internal capability across clinical, regulatory, and scientific teams. The Executive Medical Director will act as a senior client-facing subject matter expert (SME), representing Avance in high-stakes sponsor interactions, strategic consultations, and bid defence engagements, while also serving as the internal authority on CNS-specific medical governance, safety, and trial design.
By integrating deep clinical insight, therapeutic area expertise, and operational understanding, the Executive Medical Director will play a pivotal role in strengthening Avance’s position as a leading global CRO in CNS (Psychiatry/Neurology) development.
