Our client is the third largest global electronics manufacturing services, original design manufacturer company by revenue, behind only Pegatron for what concerns original equipment manufacturers. They are currently hiring for Inspection & Repair Operator 1 in Austin, TX
General Purpose: Perform a variety of component inspections and repairs on electronic assemblies/subassemblies to ensure quality and compliance with standards.

Salary:
20.50 Base Pay 2nd shift add 10% 3rd shift add 12.5%
Principal Accountabilities:
- Set up workstations with process inspection documents, screens, and workflow instructions.
- Conduct in-process and online "go/no-go" inspections on electronic assemblies and subassemblies.
- Identify defects based on workmanship standards.
- Perform touch-ups and repairs on electronic components.
- Read and interpret manufacturing process instructions, visual aids, and drawings using tools such as microscopes and magnifying lenses.
- Log product details into the shop floor control system or manual tracking systems.
- Adjust and process materials or components to meet electrical or dimensional specifications.
- Communicate process issues to peers, supervisors, and manufacturing support teams.
- Document workload, including the number of inspected and rejected products.
- Complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education/Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Varies by grade level:
- Grade 3: 1 year of related experience with on-the-job training.
- Grade 4: 3+ years of related experience.
- Grade 5: 5+ years of related experience.
- Grade 6: 7+ years of related experience.
- Grade 7: 9+ years of related experience.
Technical Skills: - Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Understanding of weight measurement and distance.
- Proficiency in soldering (advanced skills required for Grades 5+).
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions, schematics, and visual aids.
- Use of specialized tools and equipment for inspection and repair.
- Advanced inspection techniques and blueprint interpretation (Grades 5+).
Knowledge/Abilities: - Familiarity with electronic components and assembly processes.
- Awareness of Flex technologies/techniques.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information to peers and supervisors.
Certifications: - IPC Certification required for Grade 4 and above.
Scope/Impact:
- Grade 3: Limited impact within the specific work area.
- Grade 4: Moderate impact, may influence multiple programs.
- Grade 5+: Contributes to process improvements and may assist in developing departmental goals.
Decision-Making/Discretion:
- Grade 3: Limited decision-making outside immediate assignments.
- Grade 4: Some independent judgment.
- Grade 5+: Increased responsibility for decision-making and process determination.
Supervision/Leadership:
- Grade 3: Works under moderate supervision.
- Grade 4: Works with general instructions.
- Grade 5+: May lead or guide other employees and act as a supervisor.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to repetitive motion tasks.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, handle small components, and use hands/arms.
- Frequent communication (talking and hearing).
- Occasional standing, walking, and lifting/moving up to 10 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
