Summary
An Ag Equipment dealership in Great Falls is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Sales Representative. This position is responsible for selling new and used equipment to both business and consumer customers. Additionally, the role involves promoting services offered by the parts, service, and trucking departments, while representing the company as a whole.
Essential Functions
- Contact current and prospective customers to discuss products and solicit orders.
- Meet and exceed sales goals.
- Travel to customers’ properties or other agreed-upon locations to meet in person.
- Identify customers' needs and recommend product solutions.
- Answer questions about products, services, and pricing.
- Estimate prices and prepare written sales quotes.
- Submit sales orders for review and ordering from the manufacturer.
- Negotiate prices and services with customers.
- Provide customers with product brochures and literature.
- Collect customers' information for credit applications.
- Coordinate and schedule product demonstrations and deliveries.
- Train customers and their employees on equipment operations.
- Provide ongoing support and develop new sales leads.
- Identify prospective customers through research and participation in industry events.
- Monitor market conditions, commodity prices, and competitors' products and promotions.
- Complete related paperwork, including sales quotes, orders, and credit applications.
- Record sales activity and provide input in developing personal sales goals.
- Assist with general dealership operations as needed.
Required Experience - Experience in the agricultural industry, specifically modern agriculture practices and basic GPS knowledge, is essential.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in agriculture or a related field.
- High integrity, teamwork, strong communication skills, and motivation.
- Ability to handle paperwork accurately and multitask under stress.
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work long hours, including Saturdays, to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Clean driving record and ability to travel occasionally for training and meetings.
- Comfort with mechanical issues and understanding of agricultural equipment.
Required Education and/or Experience - High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of related experience.
Preferred Education and/or Experience - Associate's Degree or a 2-year Technical Degree in a related field.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
Qualifications - Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Computer and basic math skills.
- Excellent sales, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Must pass drug test, background check, and driving record check.
