Position: Service Technician III - Advanced Technician
Purpose:
To independently perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment. The goal is to ensure high-quality work, customer satisfaction, and maximize both efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Equipment Diagnostics, Repairs, and Optimization:
- Perform all duties as a Service Technician, including:
- Removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components
- Complex diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment
- Specialization in various types of equipment
- Conduct both shop and/or field (road) work as required, including Precision Ag repairs
- Perform service tasks as assigned, including machine start-ups and optimizations
- Assist in customer clinics and provide diagnostic support to other technicians
- Maintain vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment in good working order
- Administrative/Reporting/Goals:
- Work towards achieving and maintaining efficiency, productivity, and labor performance targets for both personal and team/department goals
- Maintain a consistent minimum 80% labor performance rating
- Complete required reports and forms for work assignments
- Manage the work order process from start to completion
- Account for all time and material used for assigned duties
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
- Organization/Department/Team Support:
- Keep a clean work area and maintain an orderly environment
- Foster productive and constructive relationships with coworkers and promote effective team dynamics
- Ensure all safety regulations are followed by self and others
- Personal Development:
- Participate in training programs required for skill and knowledge development
- Stay up-to-date with industry products, including those from John Deere and competitors
- Maintain necessary technical and behavioral skills
Critical Capabilities: - Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment, following technical manual procedures
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. repeatedly and between 40-75 lbs. as needed
- Willingness to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays if necessary
- Ability to self-manage and stay organized
- Valid driver’s license is required
