Assistant General Manager (AGM)
Location: Blytheville, AR
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager (AGM) for a large-scale industrial operation located in Blytheville, AR. This is a leadership role that will require you to take a hands-on approach to managing daily operations, providing critical support to the General Manager, and ensuring the smooth execution of our organizational mission. As the second in command, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site operations, maintaining a high standard of safety, and fostering a positive, productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Assist the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations at the jobsite and act as the primary leader in their absence.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and manage employees, including creating work schedules, timekeeping, reporting, and enforcing disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that safety protocols are followed and that jobsite reporting requirements are met.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with internal teams, external stakeholders, customers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure operational needs are met.
- Inventory & Supplies: Manage ordering of supplies and monitor inventory levels to ensure operational continuity.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot operational issues, utilizing technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with accounting and other operational departments to execute leadership directives and meet organizational goals.
Qualifications: Must-Have: - Proven leadership and managerial skills, with at least 2 years of related experience.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Proficiency in using technology such as Google Suites (Sheets & Docs) and/or Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work nights and weekends when needed.
- A positive attitude, self-motivation, and a detail-oriented approach to work.
Nice-to-Have: - Steel Industry and/or Scrap Industry experience.
- Experience with Heavy Equipment operation and maintenance.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
