Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk
Department: Accounting
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  
Scope of Role:
Our client, a reputable company based in Listowel, Ontario, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to optimize their cash collection process. This role involves actively monitoring customer accounts, performing day-to-day account collections, and identifying areas for improvement. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining efficient and timely collections, ensuring outstanding balances are addressed promptly and accurately.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Invoice Verification & Documentation: Gather, verify, and ensure all invoices are accurate and supported by appropriate documentation prior to payment.
• Aging & Record Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records, ensuring that aging schedules are accurate, credits and collections are properly applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous discrepancies are resolved.
• Cash Management: Perform daily cash management tasks, including processing bank deposits, updating and distributing cash receipt logs, and posting cash transactions to the A/R sub-ledger.
• Account Collections & Communication: Day-to-day account collections will be a key responsibility. Actively monitor and follow up on overdue accounts by contacting clients via phone, email, and mail to facilitate the collection of outstanding balances. The successful candidate will need to effectively manage overdue accounts to minimize delinquencies and ensure timely payments.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare analytical reports and ratio analyses related to A/R to help management track collection performance and identify areas for process improvements.
• Collaboration: Provide support to the accounting and finance teams, assisting in inventory management, cost accounting, and other related tasks as necessary.

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong Mathematical Skills: Must be comfortable with numbers and have a keen eye for detail.
• Finance & Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
• Experience with Accounting Software: Familiarity with accounting systems, such as Intellidealer (preferred).
• Time Management & Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
• Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data.

 Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in collections and accounts receivable, with proven success in day-to-day account collections.

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience the salary is negotiable.

Location:
This position is based at our client’s office in Listowel, Ontario. This is an on-site role, and remote work is not an option.
