The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor (3-5 PQE) and Senior Associate (any level of SA) to join the firm’s Financial Services Regulatory (FSR) team in Sydney.
Working within a highly regarded national practice, the successful candidate will advise a diverse client base, including domestic and international organisations across:
- Banking and financial institutions
- Non-bank lending
- Payments and fintech
This is a
non-contentious regulatory role, supporting clients as they navigate an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory landscape, including upcoming reforms.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and fast-growing area of law, working closely with experienced practitioners on cutting-edge regulatory matters.
This role would also see you working on:
- Advising clients on financial services regulation and compliance
- Supporting complex, multi-disciplinary matters
- Assisting clients to navigate regulatory change and reform
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members
Requirements:
Ideally you will have:
- 3–5+ years’ experience in financial services regulation (private practice, in-house or regulatory body)
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Payments
- Financial crime
- Consumer credit
- Retail or wholesale banking
- Prudential regulation (including accountability regimes)
- Digital assets
- A strong academic background and a current Australian or New Zealand practising certificate
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in mentoring junior lawyers
- Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI
