Our top-tier client's Sydney Banking & Finance team is expanding, and they're seeking talented lawyers to join across three specialist areas. The Roles:
1. Solicitor (3+) or Junior Senior Associate - Asset Finance / Structured Finance
The Asset Finance / Structured Finance specialises in aviation, transport, and equipment financing. The team advises major banks, financiers, lessors, lessees, and sponsors on complex cross-border financings, export credit agency (ECA)-backed deals, JOLCOs, sale-and-leasebacks, structured debt, and asset-backed portfolios.
Key responsibilities:
- Act on multi-jurisdictional structured finance and asset-backed deals, including aviation and shipping transactions.
- Draft and negotiate complex financing agreements, security arrangements, and ancillary documentation.
- Advise clients on regulatory, insolvency, and tax considerations affecting transactions.
- Collaborate with sponsors, arrangers, banks, and lessors to structure innovative and commercially efficient deals.
2. Solicitor (3+) and Senior Associate - Project Finance The Project Finance team advises sponsors, lenders, and governments on the financing of major infrastructure, energy, and social infrastructure projects. The team works on greenfield and brownfield projects, public-private partnerships (PPPs), and renewable energy developments.
Key responsibilities: - Act on acquisition financing, development and refinancing of large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Advise on renewable energy projects including onshore and offshore wind, solar, biomass, and battery storage.
- Support multi-party, cross-border financing transactions involving complex contractual and regulatory structures.
- Provide commercial guidance to clients on risk allocation, project structuring, and lender-sponsor negotiations.
3. Solicitor (2+) and Senior Associate - Securitisation & Debt Capital Markets (DCM)
The Securitisation & DCM team advises issuers, arrangers, investors, and trustees on structured funding and capital markets transactions. Work includes securitisations, hybrid capital instruments, RMBS/CMBS, auto-fleet and inventory securitisations, and large-scale public debt issues.
Key responsibilities: - Draft, negotiate, and advise on securitisation, structured funding, and DCM documentation.
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance, prudential regulation, and capital markets requirements.
- Act on complex hybrid and structured finance products.
- Support high-value cross-border deals and innovative market-first transactions.
We’re seeking lawyers with
2–8 years’ post-admission experience and a strong interest in banking & finance law. Prior experience in any of the above areas is highly regarded, but an eagerness to learn and curiosity about the specific area of banking is essential.

- Strong commercial judgment and initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively in complex multi-party transactions
