About the Role St Canice’s is looking for a New Zealand registered, innovative, and enthusiastic teacher. In this role, you’ll engage with learners, support their growth, and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Your work will be pivotal in shaping young minds, with a focus on strong, relationship-based pedagogy and commitment to te reo Māori. You could be an experienced teacher looking for a new opportunity, or starting out in your career, in search of a supportive school in which to learn and grow.
About you: The ideal candidate will have:
- A sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum.
- A great sense of humour and a genuine passion for teaching.
- A commitment to te reo Māori and cultural responsiveness.
- Strong, relationship-based teaching practices.
- A desire to learn, grow, and be part of an energetic team.

Interview Process: Interviews may commence before the closing date for exceptional candidates. Visits to the school to meet the team and tamariki are welcomed, and if you are shortlisted, we will firstly organise for a kōrero or Zoom discussion, in confidence with the Principal.
Willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school is a condition of appointment.
