ABOUT NEW ZEALAND CRICKET - KO WAI MĀTOU New Zealand Cricket (NZC) is the national governing body for cricket in Aotearoa New Zealand. As a not-for-profit National Sports Organisation, NZC is responsible for the guardianship, promotion and administration of cricket across New Zealand, including our national teams, players and competitions. NZC's vision is for cricket to be New Zealand's favourite game, underpinned by a commitment to diversity and inclusion and creating a sport that is welcoming and accessible to all.
THE OPPORTUNITY - TE TŪRANGA In accordance with NZC's Constitution, three Directors are due for rotation this year, with all three eligible and intending to seek re-election. An additional Director vacancy is also available. Global Elite Sports has been engaged to support NZC's Board Appointments Panel in facilitating the appointment process.
NZC is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals who can bring the experience, perspective and governance capability required to contribute to the ongoing leadership and strategic direction of the sport.
ABOUT YOU - MŌ KOE NZC's Skills and Capabilities Matrix outlines the mix of experience, expertise and perspectives considered important to delivering outstanding governance leadership for the sport. In line with the Matrix, the Board Appointments Panel is particularly interested in candidates who can bring capability across one or more of the following areas:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Commercial & Financial: Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy, ideally with a CA qualification.
Community Cricket: Active involvement in and understanding of community cricket, with strong relationships across the NZC cricket network.
International & High Performance: International and/or franchise cricket experience, a strong high-performance background and deep knowledge of the game.
Media, Marketing & Broadcast: Senior-level experience and capability across media, marketing, sponsorship and/or broadcast.
Governance: Professional directorship experience and a proven track record of effective governance and strategic leadership.
